Are you chasing excellence? Or are you accepting average? To be clear, we are talking about OURSELVES here. Are you taking steps to make you, your family, your life, BETTER?
"Gentlemen, we are going to relentlessly chase perfection, knowing full well we will not catch it, because nothing is perfect. But we are going to relentlessly chase it, because in the process we will catch excellence." ~Vince Lombardi
Those who cannot, will not. Those who seek to be less than average or are happy with average will not and many are just not interested in putting forth the effort. Many will voice their objections and ridicule those who strive to better themselves. It is in our nature when we compare ourselves to those who are better than us to bring them down to our level. For it is easier to criticize another than improve oneself. It is just a simple fact we feel better when we can compare ourselves to someone who is not as good, or as well off as us.
I was told that average can be described as the best of the worst, or the worst of the best. I for one am not satisfied with average. Who wants to fly with an average pilot, or get brain surgery from an average doctor? We all want excellence in our products and services yet so many will not strive for this and thus reap those mediocre rewards. If we do not demand and provide high standards we will be forced to accept lower standards.
So I ask again: Are you taking steps to make you, your family, your life, BETTER?
