February 1st is Change Your Password Day. For many, changing your password is only something that is done when they're forced to and generally speaking, that doesn't happen often enough. Do you change your password on a regular basis? Just a couple of things to keep in mind when changing your password:
- Dictionary word are the easiest passwords to crack. Hackers frequently use the dictionary method.
- Never use your birthday, spouse's name, anniversary, pet's name, etc.
- Passwords should be at least 6 characters long and should consist of a combination of upper and lower case letters, numbers and symbols.
- Don't use the same password for all of your logins. Zappos had their system hacked recently and while they supposedly didn't get anyone's password, imagine if they did and it was the same password as your bank...
