In uncertain times, it seems to be human nature to draw in on one's self and retreat. Individuals do this and so do many companies. When there are layoffs and managerial turnover, many employees feel isolated. There is rarely enough communication coming out of the corner office to let employees know what's going on and this can cause problems, including a lack of employee feed-back that is vital to a company's success. Entrepreneur Magazine has a good article on their site called 5 Ways to Break the Silence Barrier that's worth a read. Remember folks, communications is important. In The Graduate, the advice given was Plastics. From me, the advice is always COMMUNICATE! Keep the lines of communication open.
